Wisdom from Africa.

I’m not sure where I heard this African Proverb, but it’s one of my Favorites:

“When We Pray, Move Our Feet.” - African Proverb

So what is a Prayer?

In my world it can be many things: a prayer, an affirmation, an intention, positive thinking, a conscious attitude, a meditation, it’s the unseen part of how we go about something and the ‘prayer’ is tremendously important. It guides ‘HOW’ we go about the action. It’s the stuff inside us. It’s the BEING portion of how we consciously want to BE as we go about something.

So then, what is moving the feet?

That is the DOING. What is seen. The action we are taking. This might be: Exercising 4 days per week or Making the calls to grow your business or saving $500/mo or scheduling that date night weekly when we say we are going to or proactively calling a friend or volunteering monthly. It is the DOING. The action. Its the follow through on the action that you want to accomplish.

The power is in both the prayer and the moving of the feet - together. Both matter. The two need to aligned. And when they are, we are most powerful. It is the words matching our actions. The thoughts and beliefs matching the actions. Beliefs matter because they always impact our actions and that leads to more powerful results. Those of us who consciously work to align both are unstoppable.
